DUSTY DINNERS DOES…SUMMER SESSIONS

Team, we’re taking Dusty Dinners outside!

Dusty Dinners are when we open the kitchen up to some of LDN’s hottest chefs for the night. We sit you lot down on long tables, serve you some trendy wines and get the tunes on. It’s a gem of DK.

This summer, for ONE SUNDAY EACH MONTH we’re taking it outside. You’ll be sat on the outside decking amongst the flowers of the yard while the chefs cook at the wood fired oven. Romantic, ay?  Call it a Sunday BBQ, a roast, an elite alfresco experience.

The second chef taking over the Dalston decking this summer is Jago Rackham of the Ecstasy Cookbook. Jago cooks grand feasts all over the world from Tribeca to Dalston. His menu will be a summer feast, heroing seasonal food from England, taking influences from his London kitchen, and expanding them into the grandeur of the wood fired oven in a celebration of eating communally. He’s no gatekeeper; he’s sharing what he knows. He’s currently working on an upcoming book, To Entertain, in honour of the dinner party. Jago's food is glorious, and we can't wait to have him in the bakery.

JAKE BUCKNALL, @jakebucknall123 OF DINNER FOR ONE HUNDRED @dinnerforonehundred

He's all about three things: dough, plantain, and absolutely NO BOUNDARIES. His cooking journey started over 10 years ago frying plantain at a Colombian food stall in Camden. The plantain passion grew through his establishing Dinner For One Hundred; whether putting it on pizzas with jerk chicken, or resting it on Malaysian roti drenched in spicy fish head curry at their sell-out dinners. And as the menu creator of D4100, Jake knows his dough (a man after our own heart)

For this Summer Session, he’ll be celebrating plantain in every course. Plantain. Jake loves you so.

Right, roll up your sleeves and take a read of this menu...

STARTER:

MALAYSIAN ROTI + FISH CURRY + DAAL (VEGGIE OPTION) + STICKY PLANTAIN + PICKLES

MAIN:

JAKE'S WOOD-FIRED CHICKEN + HAKEEM’S WOOD-FIRED AUBERGINE (VEGGIE OPTION) + SMOKY RICE + RAINBOW SALAD + CRISPY PLANTAIN CHIPS

DESSERT:

GINGER & PLANTAIN CAKE + CINNAMON ICE CREAM

We've been admiring the work of Jake and the Dinner For One Hundred Team for a long time. These guys are passionate about food, grafters, and all-around good folk. We even got the whole DK team down to South East a few years back to pile into their gaff, and they threw us a proper Xmas knees up. Opening the doors to the bakery for our mates is what it’s all about. It’s gunna be a big night!
